Snask at Sturup - Using the track to practice for streeto.

Track days are (obviously) more expensive than street drifting. But Snask sees it as a great opportunity to practice hard entries in a safe manner, so that he will feel more comfortable later on the streets.

Drifting is more fun with friends. Snask’s friend was also at the event with his E30 that you might recognize from the garage visit I did last year.

Always love seeing two great street machines on the track during a sunny summer saturday.

Sturup has two straights that leads to a hard entry-opportunity. The main straight leads to a larger curve where the S13 barely manages to keep the drift going all the way around. The other one leads to the “S” where I usually shoot…

…and from what you will see on the photos below, for obvious reasons.

The angle gets greater and greater each event. Love it!

There is a lot that can go wrong that “just one more” lap. Doing hotlaps and not letting your tyres cool down will result in them wearing out faster, and eventually popping. But then there are more unexpected things that can go wrong…

…like your shift knob breaking mid reverse entry. Luckily, that friend that took the day of from driving can lend you one so that you can continue.

Great seeing improvements in both owners driving between every Sturup event. Guess it’s all that streeto practice that’s done wonders.

Hope to shoot these cars in their natural habitat sometime next year.

If you want to see more of these cars check out the garage visit story.
