CMS 23´- Event coverage-ish
My plan for CMS last year was to go to Hall X and say hi to all of the friends I basically only meet once a year, then run around and shoot all of the cars that stood out to me in the other halls and eventually end up in Hall X again and spend the rest of the afternoon shooting the cars there more in depth.
Well I messed up. The memory card wasn’t fully cleared and I didn’t have a spare with me. So I ran out of storage right before I arrived back at Hall X. I deleted some photos to be able to clip some fast pics of the cars I actually wanted to shoot but basically lost all motivation, went home, transfered the photos to the hard drive and there they have been sitting for the past year, untouched.
CMS 24’ is only a few weeks away and I felt that if I were to make a post with the content that I spent the whole day shooting it had to be posted before that. So here is my very late (how unusual) CMS 23’ event coverage-ish minus a ton of the coolest cars of the show.
Enjoy.
Drag-fast or show-fast?
After seeing this Corvette multiple times on social media last year it was cool seeing it in person.
Cool seeing a Nismo-kitted 350Z in Sweden.
On to my favorite car of the show. An Infiniti G35 with a Q60 faceswap and custom e-ve-ry-thing.
This brings me back to the showcars I grew up with, with custom bodykits, interior and trunk setups and overall a creative building style and I think this car perfectly combines that with modern stance.
Would love to see more people do trunk setups like this.
The Oaktre boys showcased their new (now old) setups.
Last year I designed and cut my first real livery on Alex’s S14. It was a great experience and I learned a lot. The car was sold shortly after the event and I didn’t get the chance to have a real shoot with the car outside in the sunlight where the blue chrome vinyl popped more against the black shadows on the red-ish/purple OEM paint. But it felt great finally seeing the car complete instead of a 2d image of it in Illustrator.
Looking forward to showing you what we’ve cooked up for this years CMS.
Robbin’s beautiful 1JZ swapped S13.
Another highlight of the show. Kim’s super clean Mercedes 300 SDL sporting a BBS bodykit and custom split wheels.
And these are the final few photos I took in Hall X before I threw in the towel and called it a day.
There were many other great car builds that really deserved to be showcased but it is what it is.
I will be more prepared for CMS 2024, don’t worry. And let’s hope that the blog post gets done a bit faster than this one.
Thank you for scrolling all the way through.
