Vicious Delicious - April 2022
I am very very late with this blog post… All photos have been re-edited about 4 times, never really got 100% satisfied. But sometimes 70% is okay.
Vicious Delicious is a new drifting event organized by the drift team Vicious Company, together with Oaktree Outlaws and Bomber League. It is held at Borås Motorstadium’s new drift track which is small, but features some fun elevation changes and is designed for multiple track layouts.
The event featured is the first out of two Vicious Delicious events held last year. The track featured a figure-8 type of layout which allowed for two cars to be on track at the time.
The main criteria for driving at the event is the style of your car. While the selection of drift car-owners that also focuses on the exterior of their cars is very slim in Sweden, this forms a very tight-knit community of people.
(I must admit that I was never really a fan of the neo-chrome styled Gram Lights Pro’s at first, but they have definitely grown on be quiet a bit, and I would not be against running a set on the S13…)
Being the first Vicious Delicious event which was more a test event to see if there was any interest in this sort of event further south rather than the more northern Discodans event, it was a small event, and most of the spectators knew each other or had friends in common.
Most cars I had seen before. But it was fun to see a couple of the cars for the first time, such as Jonatan’s R32 sedan and Filip’s S14.
Everything gave a very fun and calm atmosphere, except for the junior gokart event that was held on the smaller track just 10-20 meters from the drift track of course… Lovely listening to while trying to run a Lardel “booth” all day.
A very familiar car was Calle’s JZX100 Mark II, bud sadly the car had a drive shaft failure after just one lap out on the track.
The smaller track allowed the audience to have a good view of what’s going on 90% of the time, with the only exception being the hard decline in the further most corner.
Violent, LEP Automotive, Jimmy Oakes, Low Origin, Lardel. People with good taste.
I’m very glad that the boys put together this event, and as you might have seen Lardel is going to be a part of the first Vicious Delicious event this year.
At the two-day Vicious Delicious event on April 29th-30th I will be presenting a Lardel Yonaka car show, featuring selected cars that follow a good and Lardel-matching style. This is also the first Yonaka event that is fully open for the public as well.
With 4 more Lardel-booth’s following this one, it’s already fun looking back at these photos. The first time I ever sold items in person. It was a great learning experience, and kind of strange meeting the people behind the names I’ve seen multiple times on online orders. I appreciate all of you who picked something up!
Thank you for taking your time to check out this post. The photo coverage of the Vicious event last October will be up shortly, followed by a visit to Reino’s garage where you will see more of his (now sold) Suzuki and the process of his S13 project.
